This is an alphabetic index of the Gutenberg ETexts currently available on the EMBnet/CNB Server.
Pressing [Download] will send you a compressed version of the file. This reduces disk space needed and transfer times to less than a half. However, some browsers will not automatically show compressed text on your screen.
If the compressed copy doesn't show directly on your browser, then just press [Show]. This will uncompress the file and send you the plain text so you can read it directly. This way, however, it will take longer to download and will eat up more space on your disk.
In any case, you should seriously consider downloading the compressed text to be able to read it offline later. If you do, remember the books are compressed: to uncompress any of the books we recommend you use GNU's gunzip program which is available from the finest sites in the Internet.
